Adult Day Services
Adult Day Services are community-based group programs designed to meet the needs of functionally and/or cognitively impaired adults. Adult day centers provide a caring, home-like setting for individuals who, for their own safety and well-being, can no longer be left at home alone or their caregiver needs a break. Adult day centers offer a structured program that includes lunch, activities, social interaction and rest in a protected settings. Most centers are normally open five days a week during business hours and some provide transportation to and from. There are social models which cannot provide any medical care and medical models which can perform hands on care. Most offer specialized programs for individuals with Alzheimer's disease or related disorders.
