Alcoholism
Alcoholism is especially challenging for seniors. They are often non-compliant with care and medication instructions. It is difficult to get them to stop drinking if they have done it for many years. If they require additional care it is often difficult to find a place that will take them due to their behavior and withdraw symptoms that occur when an alcoholic stops drinking.
