Holistic Healing
Holistic health is a philosophy of medical care that views physical and mental aspects of life as closely interconnected and equally important approaches to treatment. While frequently associated with alternative medicine, it is also increasingly used in mainstream medical practice as part of a broad view of patient care.
Integrative medicine is a comprehensive form of medical care, delivered by physicians whoe are dually trained in conventional western medical treatments and eastern medicine and who are able to integrate concepts from both systems thereby preventing, diagnosing and treating illness within a third framework resulting from the merge of the two. In addition to acupuncture, Chinese Medicine may also include Moxibustion, Cupping, Chinese massage or "Tui-na", T'ai Chi or movement therapy, Chi Kung, or internal breathing exercises; Herbology and Nutritional Therapeutics.
Complementary medicine offers a range of therapies based on the holistic treatment of physical disorders, generally addressing the causes of diseases rather than their symptoms and also taking steps in the prevention of disease. The term embraces therapies such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, and homeopathy.
Alternative medicine treats illness using remedies such as homeopathy or naturopathy that are not considered part of mainstream medicine.
