Medication Management
One of the most common causes of unusual health problems for seniors is medication mismanagement. It is difficult for seniors to read prescription labels, open bottles, or remember or understand the dosing instructions. They may forget to take their regular dosage at all. Taking the proper dose can be especially vital for some medications. There are several options to assist them with this. There are now pharmacies who pre-package medications by day and time in blister pack dispensers. They are clearly marked with large writing if it is to be taken Morning, Noon or Night and on what day. Most of them have an automatic reorder schedule and prescriptions are mailed directly to their home. There are also medication dispensing machines that will only release a pill at the appropriate time. Usually if the pills are not taken from the dispensing cup it will alert the designated person. Some systems will even talk to remind them to take their medicine. It also keeps medicine safe so that they don't get confused and overdose themselves. The medications need to be set up once a week.Share:
